Acupuncture & Cupping

Release Pain & Restore Balance

Cupping

What is Cupping?

Cupping is a therapy where glass vacuum suction cups are placed on the body (usually the back) and either kept stationary or moved over on the skin.

Cupping enhances  qi, blood, nerve and lymph flow through an area.  The therapy is useful for tight, sore muscles and joints, period pain and stagnation types of problems.

Moxibustion

What is Moxibustion?

Moxibustion is a pleasant heat treatment using smoldering Mugwort herb over acupoints. It is helpful for pain, poor circulation and cold related conditions

Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient therapy practiced for over 3000 years. It uses fine needles (or other means of stimulation) inserted into specific points called acupuncture points, where the qi (vital energy) of the body has been shown to enter and exit the body.

These points have been mapped by the Chinese and in the last 4 decades – electromagnetic research has confirmed their presence.

The Chinese say ‘Where there  is pain, there is obstruction of qi’.

Don’t Like Needles?

Did you know acupuncture is just as effective using other forms of ‘stimulation’ of the acupoints? Heat (moxibustion), light (low level laser or near infra red light), colour (as is colour-puncture), electrical stimulation (microcurrent therapy), magnetic therapy and pressure (as in acupressure or manual pressure on ear points) are all effective methods to stimulate the body’s meridians and ‘qi’ system.

If you prefer not using needles, please say, so that you can benefit from alternative methods of ‘acupuncture’.
